Frequently asked questions
General
A: My piercing process is very quick and designed to be as gentle as possible.
For infants, I do not recommend the use of numbing cream. Instead, I focus on non-medicinal comfort measure -- soothing, swaddling and allowing parents to immediately comfort their baby with love and reassurance after the piercing.
For toddlers (2.5 years and older), numbing cream may be used if prescribed by your pediatrician. If you choose to use it, please apply it 30 minutes prior to your appointment and wipe it off completely before arrival so I can properly assess placement.
My goal is always to create a calm, safe and supportive experience for you and your littles ones.
A: I do not allow outside earrings to be used for initial piercings. I only pierce with medical-grade earrings that are specifically designed for safe, sterile piercing. This ensures the highest standard of hygiene and optimal healing.
Using outside jewelry at the time of piercing can increase the risk of irritation, improper healing or complications -- especially if the material or backing is not appropriate for a fresh piercing.
Once the initial healing period is complete (6-12 weeks), you're welcome to switch to your own earrings. I'm always happy to guide you on safe, high-quality options when the time comes.
Your starter earrings are included in the piercing fee price! You will have the option of implant-grade medical titanium or Medical-grade plastic that's BPA Free.
A: If you are re-piercing an area that was previously pierced. It is best to wait at least 6-8 weeks to allow the initial piercing to heal and close up properly. For piercings that are older and have fully healed this time frame may take longer.
Once it is time to re-pierce, we will assess your ear for scarred tissue and find appropriate placement to avoid piercing over the same spot.
